hi is there any think i can do to make it more quicker its a corsa sri engine and its doin my head in because my m8s got the 8v engine and he all over me not happy hope someone can help ha

it all depends on your budget really as there is so much you can do to these engines

potentially they are better but in std form they are heavily restricted.

some sort of TB's/Mantzel inlet would be a good start.

get the Dbilas throttle bodies, cheaper than others and still uses origional throttle position switch, injectors (upgrade later), air flow meter etc good for an extra 30BHP with no fuel increase, small increase of fuel when you re-map due to more air.

an 8v will be quicker of the mark altho you should pull more than wat he should once up the gears

The dbilas style tb's get the engine to around 125/130bhp.
What holds it back is the low rev limit, need to rev the engine a lot more to see good gains from tb's.

I'd go for a mantzel type inlet box... can pick up a copy for about ?200, and it will bolt straight on. Gives about 10ish bhp, 15/20 with a remap.

put a back box on yesterday noticed there was 4 boxs on it includin the cat thats gotta be holdin me back but still carnt get the power down in low revs once it gets going its alright .

C16xe cams would help a bit, probably un-noticeable tho.

1.6 ecu pointless, just flood the engine.

been told so many times what to do.

first port of call. give the engine a fuill service and cambelt if it hasnt been done in the last 10K miles before you start looking for more power. (its the right place to start modding then). Get an inlet manifold (copy from ebay called powerbox is only 200 notes) fit it and whiles your at it de retrict your airbox and put in a performance panel filter (forget all this induction kit crap theyre all lame accept exspensive enclosed ones). Get some cold air feeds nice n low from the front bumper (not to low due to water) and feed em to your airbox. Next job is a full exhaust system and manifold. cheapest option is a full ashley system. (though daveA (AKA VSPORT) can do you a full system including manifold in house at his place). Then for any more power you will need to spend lots of money. (i.e headwork cams throtle bodies etc etc) god luck :)

why would he want to put 1600 16v injectors in the car? Whats the point in uprating the injectors when there are no mods. Sometimes i do wonder!

i had a z14xe and fitted a dbilas inlet manifold and it made a big difference! (second hand of ebay)
