would an incorreect fuel pump relay prevent a nova from starting

What do you mean by incorrect?
The wrong number of pin terminals etc would ye.

Does your pump work?

yes i meant wron number of pins sri one has 4 gte one 6 yes pump works

Yes as some relays run the fuel injectors too, so the relay has extra pins etc.

hmmm it is my injectors that arnt working so if i have wrong relay tht could be why rite?

Its quite a special type relay, so you may have to look for a similar one in a scrappy.
Probably can get them new from gm, but ????
