rite, i've just finished the nova and booked it in for a rolling road to set the carbs up tommorow so thought i'd take it out make sure everything worked ok on it as its goin for an mot aswell. when i was coming back it devceloped a loud popping noise from number 3 cylinder, but it doesnt do it wen its ticking over like its firing with a valve open?? could it of bent a valve or is it just out of timing (it wasnt bang on in the first place but ticked over fine)

help please!!!!!!!!

how do you know its coming from cylinder 3?? it wouldn't have bent a valve, that would have happened on your driveway lol

because if i put my hand over no. 3 it goes quite lol

What are the carbs setup for atm?
Popping back through the carbs can be a sign of a lean mix, or retarded ign timing.

well the bloke i bought them of said they were off a 1.6?? it pops on every stroke aswell.

number 3 has always been the odd one (even on the XE) not sure why lol.

just mention it at the RR and see if they can sort it
