well, after reshelling my SR last summer, it went all and sundry, until December time when electrical gremilins crept it, then eventually and rather nasty electrical fire the killed the SR's 7 pin ignition loom setup, which are incedently hard to get as most are 5 IIRC

Anyway, i decided that b@llacks to wiring it back up, a new engine would be more fun :D

Choices were initally an XE, but as im so lazy, and couldnt be ****d with the time and money of welding/strengthening a new suspension i opted for the good old 1.6 8v route.

Way way way back in early Feb, after being off the road for months, work started, firstly were some spanky 256mm ATE brakes (Many thanks Iain @ Eurorally) they polished up a treat mate haha

?80.75 delivered

Then after talking to Chris, strengthened bottom were made, a rear GSi 22mm ARB, and a few other little bits.

And there is it sat, lack of funds it came to a halt...

Until April, when Andyracer sold me his 1.6 8v with loom and ECU for a massive sum of....?75

So, after 130 odd miles, and ?75 i had this

Then after an excellent selling streak on eBay, these arrived...

?38 posted for induction kit ?64 posted for hoses

Which meant it looked like this...

Altho now, it was engine removal and refit time! Baxter lent me his engine crane for the weekend, so mission accomplished. Or was it...

?4.00 new ball joint
http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j181/mikenova/6-1.jpg

Now what was needed was an injection tank, of which i didnt have! But me and Baxter struck at deal, i drive him to Flangy007's breakers yard, and he buys me a injection tank. Sorted!

With the tank gracefully at the powder coaters (?40 but got no pics) things started taking shape...

Bit of paint here....

About ?15

And hey presto....

With some other minor mincing about the way....

And little touches like stainless fuel lines (?68), stainless filter (?11), bonnet pin's (?0 may not use these but they cost me naff all)

Now, after recieving my induction, and finding out it was for a non AFM engine, i had to make a sqaure hole round!

So, out came the welder, some sheet steel, and it was sorted ?0

After wiring it all in, and mounting all the pump up, altho its now going to be mounted on the underside of the shell as oppose to in car

?30 for pump an other parts of Burgo (cheers mate!)

And a bit more mincing...

It brings me pretty much upto date with what i have now, a GTE engined spin, minus a manifold, coil and probably some other parts hahahaa
