please help!!!!!!

just got back from tamworth, engine is overheating alot, something ratteling around engine and bottom of engine is covered in oil or water or something, any ideas what could be causing it to overheat and smell of burning? any help appreciated!! cheers Ian:thumb:

id say first off it could be headgasket, what does the burning smell like, oil ? water ??

Sounds like its proper fooked. Headgasket possibly, hence the oily/watery mess. Whats in the header tank?

Remove a spark plug from cold. whats it look like?

Drain oil, whats in it?

burning smells of oil, just been away to drayton manner with fiance, as never been but she has(its brill) got back and realised all the noise and smell of oil burning etc what you think it is? cheers Ian

Maybe the sump is leaking out of the back and gone onto the exhaust mate giv us a picture

Hmm, the sump gaskets leaking, not really much of a problem?
Looks like its been like that a while.

when i got the car smelt abit not much, however now its ratteling and smelling more started to worry me now, dont have a clue with it

if you had a big oil leak you might have ran a bearing dry and thats whats causing your rattle and if you have its not a small job lol

oil is fine not used any really

you will have to take sump off. because whatever is rattling around is probaly lieng in the bottom of your sump. your going to have to do this anyway if your sump gasket is done
