fuel pump 1.2ohc

do the fuel pumps in the 1.2ohc give much trouble. the car ran completly dry and i put petrol in it and its not sucking it up at the pipes before and after the pump were all dry i tried sucking some up the lines but it wont hold it. would it be my pump :tard:

Maybe the filter inside the pump blocked.

how would i know if its blocked

You wont get fuel out the outlet of the pump....
Altho the chances of it getting completely blocked are slim.

Some pumps you can take apart and clean.

but the thing is is thatthere is no petrol coming up the lines before the pimp. even if the filter was blocked would it still take the petrol up the line for the inlet to the pump

try pouring a little in the top of the carb to get it running and it should pull the fuel through, thats what i did in mine!

poured plenty of petrol into carb and she is going grand now, goin to put fuel pump on it anyway its not too dear and the one on it isnt great. thanks
