hmmm i didnt want to do a todo list as i know it will make me cry but here goes.....

finish preping the shell for primer and have it primed then prep it for paint and have it painted.

then fit new cross member and prep engine bay and cross member for priming and painting.

fettle disk rear beam to make the car lower then fit it and come up with a hand brake.

make new front brake lines to go from master cylinder to the distribution block then to the calipers, also make a new brake line to run threw the car and then split at the back for back brakes.

fit new polybushed and strengthened bottom arms and tie rods

fit new front brakes (16v ones as i cant get the 5 stud conversion done on the front in time)

fit my f13 box once removed from current car, cleaned and painted

fit cavvy gear shifter once box is in place.

bottom end requires the con-rods to be sent for shot peening, then when they are back ive got to fit the new pistons to them before bolting them to the crank with arp and new bearing. obviously the crank needs bolting back in aswell once the block prep is finished.

top end requires, old valve guides punching out so the exhaust ports can be fettled then new bronze guides fitted. i need to finish wasting the valves. then it all needs putting back together and bolting to the block.

then ive got to make my inlet manifold fit the throttle bodies and get the throttle bodies mounted.

then ive got to wire in my engine management system and get it running. after fitting the new tank, pump, lines, exhaust and everything else to do with the engine.

then ive got to extend the wiring loom to hide it in the wings

errrr put all the windows back in and the seats in and anything else ive forgotten to do!!

so nice and easy then

I'm the same as RJ, too much left to finish and not enough money or time. So I have admited defeat and will be turning up in a Fourtrack instead.

In terms of what I have got left to do it goes something like this:

Patch over a few small holes in the floor pan

Respray inside of car

Fit engine and ancillaries

Buy and fit roll cage

Buy and fit Bucket Seats

Buy and fit Coilovers

Fit new brake drums and shoes

Fit rear polly bushes

Rolling Road setup

As well as whole load of other non-essential touches

3 options for me...

Blue nova - needs front bilstein sorting as the thread is buggered. also mot.

Red GTE (XE) - sort rot on door - remove all the white paint flicked over the drivers side (caused by a paint spillage on the road).

Saloon - will need respray and a few more bits bough - probably not going to happen in time...

What to do...

The SR needs a new piece of trim for the wing, a new set of struts and strut tops for the front, and the exhaust adjusting to stop it knocking.

I cant be assed to drag the green one to the show. lol

Erm o.k,
wire and plumb eng, plumb fuel lines, set up gear linkage, fill gearbox with oil, paint steelies, buy and fit four new tyres, modify and fit exhaust, re-fit front lights, fit snow plough and refit bumper, still awaiting ordered springs, so they need to be fitted to struts and then to car, make some sort of inlet pipe, make and modify astra front mounted fan to fit, fit 2 new handbrake cables, tighten all brake line unions and bleed brakes, and prob lots of other stuff too,

quite handy this thread ad, i'll now use it as my checklist!
