hi ive had 2 mk2 dashs sitting in my shed for over a year now and ive decided to replace my brown mk1 dash for the mk2.
Is this an easy job?
does anything need changing?
any pointers befor i go ahead and give it ago remembering i use my nova on a daily basis
Mounts are all the same, wiring is pretty much the same although you'll need to shuffle some wires round on the central blower/heated RW control. Use the control rods from the Mk2 dash for the heater. If you want the side vents to work you'll also need the Mk2 heater ducts, assuming your heater has the side panels open (if its a poverty spec one it'll have blanks in there - either cut them out or replace it with a Mk2 item). Mk2 uses a mount on the centre floor tunnel as well, but if you have the centre console that should hold it in place. You'll also need the Mk2 steering column shroud as the Mk1 stuff won't fit the Mk2 dash.
Mk1 dials will happily sit in the Mk2 dash if you put a bolt in the top dial mount on the dash and bend it down a little to wedge the dials in place.
Easy job really, couple hours work. And ripping the Mk1 dash out and stamping on it is extremely satisfying :D
are the heater ducts that go to the passenger side vent the same mk1/mk2? as i carnt remember if i put a mk2 one in mine lol and at the minute mine isnt fitting right, falling down etc

Steering wheel will be the first big issue, if you havnt had it off recently you might have problems.
You'll need a three legged puller which most garages have, take it there if you really get stuck.
Mines must of been on there from new as it took a garage two hours to take it off!
Heater ducts are different. Steering wheel isn't that hard, just lever it off with a large screwdriver, or buy a puller then take it back to the shop after using it lol

Could we hell get the one off my mates Corsa B! and that was using a ratchet strap tied around his 'cage also!
Remember to leave the hub nut on a couple of turns unless you want an antiquated griffin stamped on your forehead and/or broken nose lol
LMAO at me completely owning myself! The horn push will clearly not be on the wheel! The nut info. stands correct however! lawl
LMAO lol ^^
ah right that could be why my passenger side one keeps falling down etc lol
