i am struggling at renewing my track rod ends. any ideas how to get them off? i cant get them off the steering arm and i am worried i am going to round the nut as its rusted on..:confused:

Just chop the nut of with a grinder, then knock it thru, Job done !!

i used a blow torch on them untill i they came loose

dont fancy taking the grinder to it..

i thought about putting the blow torch on it until it got right hot then trieng to get it off after that. think i will try that first.

Id rather grind it than heat it up TBH.

but if i grind too far will i not damage the threads on the steering arm?

Ah, sorry, thought you were having trouble getting it off the hub carrier, not the track rod itself.

no problems. i am going to grind the nuts off the hub carrier then knock it through. i am struggling getting it off the track rod itself as you say.

You need a blowtorch/oxyaceltalene(sp) to heat them up to help get them off.
Its the reason garages charge so much to replace them.
