My balancing on my wheel is out a bit, well I think its that and shakes the steering wheels a bit but isnt too bad evening the balancing was spot on, on the balancing machine at work....

Earlier I was driving along and it got so violent I couldnt go above 30mph so I stopped and stuck my head under the car and discovered the shaft on the N/s wasnt all the way in so I poped it back in, drove of and its fine again and hasnt gone wrong since.

Just wondering if anyome has had the same problem and how I go about fixing it.

Could be me thinks -

Wheels bearing
A busted bush
Splines on the shaft its self
Castle nut on end of shaft
Hub...

Where do I look first. Dont want it to get terminal this close to pv

Pete.

the clip holding it in place?

My 2p would be that its the circlip that holds the inner CV in place, or it wasnt pushed in properly in the first place.

Does that hold the shaft into the hub then? Easy to change?
It was the hub end that had came out a bit too

No that end holds it in the gearbox. If the hub end was loose then you need to push it in and torque the castle nut up according to haynes, then put a split pin in it to stop it coming loose.

You'll need a deep 30mm socket. :)

Not got a socket so it will just have to wait. Put it on a ramp and it does look further out than the other side but not made my steering go funny since :) .

Fingers crossed for PV :thumb:

Mine did that at full lock, it was the outer CV joint.

in a straight line too though :(

If you've properly knackered it, yes it could be that.
