how does it seem to not work? is it actually getting stuck and not moving?

are you sure you haven't put it together the wrong way and something inside the autochoke bellhousing isn't in the way?

When i start from cold it doesnt work, nothing trapped or in the way,you have to keep the revs up or it will fart at 500rpm

can you move it though? you should be able to move it and it will spring back, it might not be adjusted properly

It wont move, the spring closest to the carb moves, but the 1 that the unit itself should move has a load of play and when i try to adjust it clicks into the seized position if that makes any sense???

erm, the chokes in the carb??

it sounds like the spring aint on properly, its kind of shaped into box shape at the end, you out the pin into this in the carb autochoke housing, if its not on properly id imagine youd get lots of play and the click is the pin flicking from one side of the spring to the other

all on properly, checked everything.its operated by water isnt it?

no, the water heats the spring up, the spring is designed so it expands when it heats up which opens the choke
