Does anyone know how to wire a central locking kit up? Below is a link to a diagram of what Colin smith sent me. Could someone tell me where all the bits go in the car and how I would wire this to my alarm please?

(Sorry about the long link)

I take it that the brown/yellow
Brown/red
Black/red
Black/yellow wires all go together I just need to know which side the 3 wire plug goes on (driver/passenger) and why is one of the motors heavier than the other. When it?s all wired up how do I test if it works correctly. If I push one side should the other side lock or does it only work one way. If it doesn?t work how do I spot a fault. Please someone help!

I cant figure it out and don?t want to damage it by wiring it up incorrectly.

thanx in advance

The reason why one motor is heavier than the other is that it does not contain a motor, just a switch. This is the drivers side. It does not need a motor as you have to turn the key to open this side, which presses the switch to activate the passanger side. If you want to link the locking up to a remote, you will need a new drivers side motor which contains a motor as well as a switch. You can tell if it works by pulling the drivers side motor, and the passanger side should follow. If it goes the opposite way you have wired it back to front. Sorry i don't know about the actual wiring of the colours though. I assume that you just link up matching colours and the red one goes to a permanent live. I hope this helps

red = constant 12v (from fuse box)
brown = ground (from by handbreak)
3 wire one is one with switch in
2 wire one just has motor in

right so if im linking this to an alarm i need two of the heavier motors (two passenger side ones) or will i need a special one. The car is delocked so i wont be using the key to open it ill be running it through an alarm.

on the three wired plug where does the brown wire connect to. after i get these quick questions answered i think ill have it sorted. hope you can sort out my last two questions !
