oil light

Just put gsi engine in my nova ..Oil light staying on when runin seems too fade after about 10 seconds but does not go out. yes there is oil in it any ideas:confused:

Does it go off when you take the engine off idle?

could be in need of a new oil pump?

no it stays on but very faint

soudns liek a wiring problem imo, there suposed to be on or off not in between

if it was a wiring problem the light wouldnt work at all, sounds like u need a new oil pump, you used to but gear kits for the pump but by the time u would strip it and rebuild it youd be better buyn a new oil pump, shuldnt be that dear lol

Basically if the lights on, your engines in serious trouble.
Either fooked pump(maybe blocked) or worn bottom end bearings. Is it knocking?

how would i know if the pumps nackerd anyway of testing?is it a easy fix?
