i've got a 1.4 sr, and the front right hand brake keeps binding on and the disc starts glowin. it started a couple of months ago, i cleaned the sliders and it still done it, freed up the main piston and it was still playin up, so then thought f##k it and changed the caliper to one i got from a mate. It was fine for about a month and now its binding again. What can it be?? Only other thing i can think of is a collapsed rubber brake hose which isnt allowing the pressure to be released? N e ideas??

Cheers

get a set of the ate ones off a corsa with the same size disks as yours that the cheapest way

or fit 16v stuff if you have 5.5x14" wheels

16v Nova - Toolkit, Trouble, Points and great expence all come as standard :)

2.0 16v back soon :D

get new brake pipes on the front, this happened to my car before.the brakes kept on binding, i changed the mastercylinder and everything, but all it was, was the brake pipes, i spent nearly ?250 on different bits.

I agree with carnage, the same thing happened to mine. The flexible pipe may look ok on the outside but they perish on the inside, then they start to act like a oneway valve.

u reckon just change the rubber hoses, it only does it on one side, the front left? ive had a few people tell me to change the master cylinder.

Always best to try the cheapest thing first, which in this case is new pipes. If it sorts it, then jobs a good un ;)
If it doesn't, at least you've not spent much.
