Anyone help me with this one.

I've bought some aftermarket auto gauges - oil temp/pressure and water temp.

I know that I need to get a couple of adapters for the oil gauges, but does anyone know the thread size of the OEM water temp sender on an XE.

I'm inclined to use the auto gauge sender rather than plug it onto the OEM one.

Any help?

Cheers,

Dave

Why? Just run a wire from the GM sender!

Why? Is the GM sender range the same as the auto gauge range?

I'm not great with car electrics, so if I don't need to change I won't!

also, no need to know the oil pressure or temperature, its just extra stuff to worry about lol.

Blind spot anyone?

Obviously not on gay new cars or even gayer VX220s, but the classics NEED the gauges.

Plus the oil pressure almost looks like a lazy boost gauge.

I have all 3 gauges and they are what I want to use. They will be mounted somewhere infront of me on an aluminium back plate probably.

Having blitzed one engine in the past due to oil related issues, I feel inclined to protect my xe which will be getting a good roasting around various UK tracks some time soon. It may not prevent me from having to fix a problem, but it may prevent me from having to start from scratch with another engine!

Thankyou for your lovely comments too!

Oh and water temp. is because the current gsi dash I have reads pathetically low even when it's been standing in traffic and is on the rad fan. It may be the temp sender, so hence why i'd prefer to change sender and have a new matching gauge.
