My old Saloon 130 Sleeper

Have been looking at some of the nice Saloons that are on here these days and thought I'd post some pics of my old one : )

When my GSi rotted away back in 2002, I bought this immaculate 50k G plate 2 door from the local auctions for ?120. Cheap and cheerful, 20SEH, GMax shocks with PMC XE high poundage -40mm front springs and GMax -60mm rear springs, polybushed, lowered tie rods, bailey header tank 4, GSi seats, harnesses, 4 pot Willwoods up front with greenstuff pads and Mk4 Astra SXi rims running 185/55/15s. Owed me ?750 on the road iirc, 130bhp / 800kgs still badged as a 1.2 Merit :thumb:

Always suprised people at 1/4 miles etc, best was a 15.3 @ 88mph iirc

Looked fantasitc when you had it - reminds me of my first H reg saloon.

Seen that picture of it painted black before, have to say I think it looks awful. Another Mexico Red coup? bites the dust :(

New one looks quite clean though, but I'm not sure about the beige colour lol

That was the 1.0 saloon I was "supposed" to buy, I won it on ebay but couldnt shift my old nova so hence I never picked it up.

Shell does look brand new, as why ive always gone for the early models as they dont rot like mk2s do.

What colour you doing it in? looks like you've started on it with polar white.

Will be keeping an eye on this project, looks like it'll be an awesome lil' sleeper.

It fetched ?291 on ebay iirc and we only wanted to spend ?200, I was gutted lol. It turned up on adtrader.co.uk a few weeks later for ?300ono, in the end he took ?225.

Glacier white for this one we think, Polar belongs on Sports :thumb: Don't think it'll look like a sleeper when it's finished tho ;)

There seems to be a bit of an influx of South Wales boys at the moment. I bet the red one was good fun to road rally. Wouldn't mind a go at that my self but I've just stripped the interior out of my car which I think means it wouldn't be eligable.

I never rallied the 2.0 cos it wasn't allowed at the time, but it would have been mint!

My very first Nova back in '96 was a B reg beige 1.2L 3dr, ended up an SR replica and it looked half about :D
