my nova project

just got back from collecting my new nova thanks mark t most of you will know the shell is jonlems old white one.

plans are
20xe
cage
no intera
buckets
polycarb windows
15s multi spoke in black.
hope to have it ready for the road by may the 16th
will post up pixs of the progress

few questions i need help with.

will an after market steering wheel and boss from a cavalier fit a nova?
whats the best radiator to use?
what coolent pipes do i use?
what part of the nova gear linkage do i need?

is it possable to use all the cav gear stick and linkage?

will cav front seats bolt onto nova sub frames?

Sounds like you've got a good shell to start with, nice one.

-Dont think so
-SRi/Gte/Gsi
-Nova sri/gte/gsi ones for rad etc(xe ones for around the back of the engine)
-The complete nova linkage is used in a xe conversion

-Yeah, but it needs modding and a whole cutting in the bulkhead to run the linkage rod through.

whats the best radiator to use? - any will do but the slightly bigger one from a gte/gsi is probably best
what coolent pipes do i use? - not the most accurate answer but whichever fit
what part of the nova gear linkage do i need? - all of it unless you are doing the below then none of it lol

is it possable to use all the cav gear stick and linkage? - yes it is possible but it isnt a two minute job. you would be best off looking at dar's wip thread as he has done this mod

(6) yes they will, but you have to use the subframes of the GTE/GSI.

so i cant use 1.4 sr seat runners?

just sorted out my doner car a nice 60k cav gsi 4x4 will convert the f20 to fwd has a better finaldrive for faster asselration than the normal f20 that will be nice.

its also got a cocast head white gsi clock power cap air filter seats are in good condition so hopeing to use them till i sort out some bucket seatsalso has a nice small steering wheel.
haoing to have the wheels and front breaks too.
should be able to sell the rest of the pats for more than i paid for it.

i have no bumpers at the no not sure to go for gsi or standered plastic ones.

the car will be now a track car and poss be used on the road at weekends.
as my main car will be another cav that will have a few bits from the gsi on.

unsure what to go for plain black bumpers or white gsi bumpers?

what to go for rally style but standered ish look.
then the wheels do i go for
14" gte alloys that are on there?
14" sr 3 spoke alloys?
15" cav gsi alloys
15" multi spoke alloys the ones bellow

Good to see its going back on the road, spend a bit of time getting the engine bay and interior looking mint again.

You do realise you either have to remove the Nurburgring sticker or do a sub 8.55 to deserve it lol ;)

I cant come and help but its quite simple to install the engine, just drop me a PM with any questions if your stuck or need to know the fitting procedure if you haven't tackled a job like that before

started to clean the inside of the car the last few days ready to be resprayed. going to clean a few bits in the bay befor the engine gose in.

hopefuly will have some 15"mos at the endo of the month in prob white or maybe black or the grey like my old astra ones.

main use will be for track days and weekend fun. sorted out a good price on dunlop dzo2g's.

trying to sort so poly car windows out.

will be useing cav gsi fron seats till i can sort some buckets out.

hopeing to use the f20 4x4 if i can convert it to fwd will be geting a free dead f20 doner box for parts.

hopeing to use the cav gear linkage stick ect.

got a mate thats willing to make me a one off cage for mine will be running no dash
will be getting some 280mm discs and 4 pot calipers soon.
got a few new things to try tobe diffrent too.

once its running will have a go at the ring but will be running standered power so no chance beting that time.

sorted out a set of 15"comp mos also got sr bumpers cav gsi seats and aftermarket steering whell fitted.

striped and rebuilding a 1989 20xe with cocas head.
just collected some comp monts.
