I just putting back together my engine and i am putting the carbs on the engine. The alternator will not fite the engine ? the engine is a 1.6 8v from a get with tw40 carbs, is there a part i am missing? thanks chris

sounds like your missing the proper alternator bracket to fit the 40's, altho i wasnt aware this was needed to fit them to a 1600??

in what way wont it fit? phsical size, something in way???

yeh sounds like the lowering bracket for the alt your missing.

You need the lowering bracket for all ohc engines.

i have the bracket and alternater from a 1.2 merit engine.It seams to be to big or to high the cards are about an inch away from there location?

Thats because you need a custom bracket to lower the alternator.
