Right, I recently chaned my brake pads (front) as the old ones were running low. The brakes are 2.0l 16v discs and callipers. since I changed the pads, the brakes have been shit. I can't see any reason why. I have bled the system, even though I didn't take the calliper off, so it shouldn't even have needed bleeding. I have run the pads in. It says to run them in for 150 miles in the haynes manual and I have done nearer 250 and they are still shit.

To confirm this, my brother has just done the same thing, replaced his pads on the same set up and bled them and his are equally as shit, they were really good on both of our cars before we changed the pads.

Is there any explanation for this as we have both used different pads ?

any ideas

hhmmm, sounds a bit weird, maybe different compound pads? If u put performance 16v pads on a nova it really makes a difference!

yeah. the callipers aren't seized at all. Its really puzzling.

As a temporary solution, we have adjusted the brake pedal which seems to have made a bit of a difference, but not an ideal solution.
