you'll probably find cheap hi defs arnt that good, i think the normal tv has 720 lines? and to be classed as a high def it needs 756? im not sure about the exact figure but hi defs only need 30ish more lines than standard to be classed as high def

I'm happy enough with it. Not that anal about a television TBH, I only watch football, topgear and pirate dvd's. Me and my son will love Fifa on it!!

The TV is now unavailable, it isn't the ?489 one in the other link, it's the HDMI 1024x768 one.

?499 isn't expensive nowadays. My wife can spend that in the Trafford Center (I **** you not!)

I believe it's actually the same as the Goodmans one that's for sale in TJ Hughes for ?679 ATM but re-branded....

768 means you can have 720p which imho is the dogs bits compared to say 1080i.

but then you need an HD source to get that lol

Cheap Hi defs aren't really that good from what I've seen. Go into Currys, Comet or even PC World and they will probably have a display section of Hi Def TVs running demo videos. It's easy to spot which ones cost the most even without looking at the brand or price tag. Although saying that, they were all still a huge improvement on a normal TV.
