View Full Version : HISSING SOUND under braking

When i brake, even if i am sat at a junction not moving there is a hissing sound like air escaping somewhere which comes from the passenger side of the car, but with the bonnet up you cannot hear it when you try and find where it comes from. The brakes dont seem spectacular, but aren't bad...

What could this be?

piece of piss take the two bolts off the master cyclinder then the four behind the servo, and then in the passenger side footwell pull the clip out and rod from the servo arm then remove the servo:D

make sure u change the one way valve aswell and the seal into the servo, the are only pennys from vaux but if they bust ur servo dies
when i have them in i charge ?10 for std black ones and ?50 for sri/gte/gsi/d/td :D

16v Nova - Toolkit, Trouble, Points and great expence all come as standard :)

im assuming a servo from an astra 16v (where I got my big brakes from) would be better then my current SRi servo. if I got one of these would it be hard to convert?

what are you talking about ? the hissing noise is the servo working and doing its stuff ! if there is a skeaking noise noise you need to be worried.

True, True...
