last of the nova sr's has just informed me that he thinks there is another water pipe that has to be moved, aswell as the 2 that you join together, could anyone tell me which pipe this is and where it goes to ?
thanks a lot

You just join the two together that went to the carb.
Thats it.

Did you bleed the coolant system(removed the sender when you fill the cooling system up) Airlocks can cause strange up and down temp readings.

It should bleed itself, you shuldnt have to remove the sender?

It will bleed itself if you run it with the coolant cap off, but it causes the coolant to boil up and explode out the expansion tank if you have the engine running for a long time.

But if you just remove the temp sender, then fill the coolant all the air rushes straight out the sender hole.
Refit the sender when coolant starts coming out.

I've never had problems that way/\

sounds like a lockage or else the water is not getting circulated inside the engine

The coolant system doesn't change when fitting the 32/34 carb. Just one pipe coming from the manifold connecting connecting the heater matrix inlet on the drivers side. As already said, it's most likely you've got a blockage somewhere which will need to be flushed out.

either that or your water pump has given up but hopefully its jus t a blockage

recently when squashing the water pipe,i can hear air coming from the header tank, seepig out through the cap.could this be whats causing my problems ?
thanks

If the caps leaking then yeah that would cause it.
As the coolant system cant pressurise, thus boiling over at normal water boiling temp.

but would that also make the engine temp go up ?
thanks
