I have just sprayed my alloys in gloss black. However all the ones i have sprayed blavk before have always gone matt coloured. Is there any way that you can flat back the wheels and polish them up? has anyone done it? any helpp appreciated cheers!!:thumb:

depends what you have painted them with, use t-cut that is good on rattle cans

Make sure theres a good covering of paint.
Then flat them off with 1200 wet and dry, use wet. Mind the edges.
Wash them off, then use t-cut/cutting compound to smooth them. Buff
the compound.
Clean them off.
Then polish and buff with some decent wax/polish.

If you've used a gloss colour there isn't any need for laquer for a shine.

Altho it would help with stone chips etc.

lacquer them. flat back using 1200 grit (wet) - (watch the edges!) and then
dry off.

This will produce a bull black surface. Then apply 3 coats of lacquer - allowing a few minutes between coats for it to go tacky (otherwise it'll run).

The lacquer will make the flatted back paint go very glossy!

It'll also protect the wheels from stone chips.
