Normally things like this are caused by some idiot leaving the hob on but it seems that this one was caused by the company I work for. We own all of the gas pipes in Wales and South West England and had been replacing all of the steel pipes in the street for yellow plastic ones, you can see the pipes we had been using on a big reel in the photo. Unfortunately it seems one of our boys must have cocked something up which led to the poor guy's house being filled with gas while he was out. Ooops!
Needless to say there have been some very worried people in work today.
Can't believe an 80 year old man survived such an experiance and managed to run back into his collapsing house to rescue his dog.
