Everytime I park up I notice im dripping oil. No blue smoke that I can see and I put a new sump plug gasket on but wasn't leaking from there. Is it likely to be leaking from the sump gasket when under pressure? Not massive amounts but worrying none the less..
Fooking annoying me.
No doubt it'll be the sump gasket.
The std xe sump gaskets always leak, Lol.

Where can I get an uprated one from?
:D
I think you can fit one off a 2.0 8v engine, its a different gasket that doesn't leak.
Think thats right anyway.

It doesnt need uprating & it shouldnt be under pressure.
The 8v type uses rubber gaskets instead of cork but will need shorter sump bolts.
Have a good look for where the leak is coming from. Its not a nice job I did mine to discover it was the crank shaft end seal after all.

We always use a 1.8 16v one piece gasket an baffle and that stops them most of the time

the gasket sealer we use at toyota is the nuts havnt seen it fail yet but ?40 a tube lol
good ole loctite RTV will do the job
Be bloody careful with gasket sealant on the sump. it is very easy for bits to break off and clog up the pickup lol

before you go running of changing sump gaskets and grank end seals, check the crank case breather pipe isint blocked because that caused the same problem with mine. And that caught the best of use out including JNC who replaced both crank seal and tryed numours sump gaskets.
