Valver converstion

I have bought my self a 2.0 16v engine, loom and gear box. I will order Drive shafts (?295) from Just Novas and mounts (?95) tommorrow, i was just wondering if there was anything else that i need? I have a GTE at the moment so allready have the larger Rad, fule pump/tank etc.

Collin Smith has a full system to fit the valver and i think i will have that from him to.

Is there anything else i need?

Also who wants to earn them selves some beer tokens by seem welding my engine bay and dropping the engin in for me?? How much... tell me what you want and we'll go from there. I would like to hepl with whatever i can.

don't get engine mounts. Just use the Nova ones !!!

You will regret it if you spend ?95 on them trust me, my brother bought them and they are a waste of money.
Those driveshafts have gone up, mine were ?225 only 5 months ago from JN, they are good though.

I got the welding stuff paul, and kinda know howto do it, but aint done it b4 :(

i can fit the engine and do the welding
but... i wouldn't do the welding if u payed me cause it's such a shit job to do.... no probs with fitting the engine

Sorry engine monts are 225. My mistake.

So Ste, if i get the seam welding done, how much would you want to fit the engine for me?? Would i need to get the engine mounts or would i be able to use the Nova ones?

Dicko, dont really think it would be a good idea to let you practice on my car first, but if you learn to do it then you can earn ya self some beer tokens! ;)

I am in the midlands, about 25 minutes away from Stoke.

yeah you can buy an adapter from Novatech for ?40 to lower that mount, or the bonnet wont shut coz the left hand side of the engine will be too high.

nice idea, but I doubt it because the drive shaft would be at a fucked angle and the oil would sit in one half of the engine because it wouldn't be straight.

or u can cut it off the leg and weld it on lower and use the orignal astra alloy mount

if u came down essex i could get the welding done for 60 notes. iam getting mine( car) fully seam welded and engine bay plus plates for around 60

How long does it actually take to seam weld the bay? ?60's a bit cheap innit? (No complaints though!)

that just novas spacer thing on mine still had to have about 4 washers stuffed in aswell coz the bonet wont shut, it still doesnt sit right at all. as for shafts, phone man transmissions, they make them for courtney, mine wre ?208 i think, no more than that thouh, cant remember the numver either but 192 will have it, in a place called beadale i think

I was joking about the bonnet bulge thing btw......I know there's more to it than making sure the bonnet shuts ;)

I been told to get the metal mounts from CarQuip (they join onto the body work) and then use normal Nova deisel mounts for everything else??

?75 for 3 mounts for Nova, and ?100 for Carquip items...

carquip have stopped doing them!!!
deisel mounts (gearbox) are the same as pertol ones

OOH.. I JUST CALLED THEM!!!
CARQUIP MOUNTS ARE BACK!

Gearbox Mount, Rear Mount, Front Lefthand Mount ?110 for set, ?6.50 delivery UK

The company changed hands a little while ago & they did run out but never stopped!
SO THEY ARE BACK! same as before, from the same suppliers. All are already modified as necessary.

Is this all I would need??
