Won't it just shake rattle and roll everytime a eat plays through the speakers?

Ideally you don't want 6x9s and your mid/treble speakers in the back of the car, you want mid and treble from the front and just bass from the back. Fibre glass is the worst material for a decent sounding parcel shelf, it might look ok though.

Maybe get a regular Nova shelf and re trim it in something? Are you having a sub/amp or will you have amped speakers in the shelf or just speakers in the shelf direct off the head unit? Any speakers in th front? This is an important bit to know to decide what would be best in your shelf (shame to make a shelf, only to realise the speakers actually sound gash!!)

3-4 coats of fibreglass matt and resin is as strong as the mdf tou would use t make a sub box or parcel shelf how ever i agree that 6x9 are **** and you need your mid / treble from the front and bass from the boot so build door pods and sub enclosure instead.

fibre glaas would fall apart too the amount they rattle and move about! Would look good till cracked and fell to bits, sound poo and gen would of been waste time!
But I can see why you might of come up with it though! If wasn't removable and fixed some how could sort of work, but would waste your time and money mate!

i got a fibreglass parcel shelf when u put your 6x9's in or which speakers u decide to use get a piece of mdf the same size and screw your speakers though the fibreglass into the mdf creating a nice looking parcel shelf with weight so i don't vibate to much :D:D

hope that helps
