:D
Hi people I'm thinking about puting in a 1.4 16v engine what gear boxes can I used?Ihave 1.2 which has the 5 speed box(im told is same as the 1.3sr but not sure on that) Is this an easy conversion to do?
I have better breaks so don't need them,do I need a different petrol tank or lines?
:-/
Where can I get one from?
The scrapy's round here seem to only have base modle nova's and cars of simalar age!
What the going rate?

Expensive and not very common.
As far as I know a 1.4SR box would be best - F13 CR.
You could buy a 1.4SR engine and then get the head separately.
I should think you would need a tank out of a 1.6?? with a swirl pot in?

yep I'm wrong and yur right Ste! ( as usual:D)

Also Sri tank - any injection 1 with a swirl pot.

Other things i got wrong: the 1.416V block runs a bigger flywheel than a 1.4SR which means that the gearbox mod isn't as easy as I thought. Since most of these engines come from Corsa's or Tigra's (some later 1.6 Astras and Cavaliers as well so I've been told)you would need a box out of 1 of them.

hahaha, u need either f13/f15 gearbox, and nova gte running gear.
Fuel tank/pump/lines. Requires a bit of wiring aswell (nothing major)

Exhaust fitting is different aswell. Personally i wouldnt put this engine in. Ud be much better off with a 1.6 8v. Which is lighter and has more power, and is much less to buy and setup!
