At what millage in a 1.4 SR engine, whould it need to be rebuilt if the engine has had a carefull owner and frequently serviced.

when it seizes solid theyll go on and on if looked after.
200k plus and ur ok if its been looked after.
just wait and see stes reply saying how much miles his cars have done lol

150k - 200k if it has oil changed regular
my old 1.2i did 204k without me opening the bonnet with just a vaux service every 10k from new
16v Nova - Toolkit, Trouble, Points and great expence all come as standard :)

I reckon that now that most SR's are about 10yrs+ old they would benefit from new valve oil stem seals almost irrespective of mileage although most will be approaching the 100k mile mark??
Do a compression test. If thats OK you shouldn't need to touch it.
To make yur engine last 4 ever, flush the oil system, take the sump off and clean the pickup gauze out and then keep changing the oil every 3 - 5000 miles and the filter once every 2 oil changes. To be doubly safe add a magnetic attachment to the filter
