I have a 93 nova spin 1.2i. I want to put some GSI dials in but my old dials have no rev counter. Would they still work?? I am putting a GSI Engine in soon, would I need to change all of the electrics anyway for the clocks. Any help would be brilliant

The rev counter works from a signal sent from the coil...it's just one wire (green on the Nova loom) that runs from the coil to the connection on the back of the rev-counter.
What's the coil like on the 1.2i Is it the square one, or cylindrical?

Here's a pic of how the wire connects to the square coil: http://www.novabug.co.uk/Coil-RevCounter.jpg

u need to run a wire from the negative side of the coil to the spade terminal on the back of the rev counter. the round coil has a spare terminal, the square one has a blank you can put a lead into. it's dead simple.

Remove old 1.2i dials then put plug into back of gsi dials and refit. The wire for the rev counter is already there. It was on my 92 1.2i anyway!
Mind u your oil pressure gauge will not work, so u will have to fit the oil pressure sender for it to work.
