I just had a thought, i wanna use one of those space saver you get in new cars instead of the "heavy" spare wheel. has anyone got one? if so where did you source it from and have you driven with it, whats it like?:thumb:

Can of tyre weld, a sympathetic mate/parent who has a spare steelie around his/her place (and is willing to drive it to you) and AA cover should do the trick nicely mate (works for me anyway).

well i've already got a spare steelie but haven't been bothered to put it in since getting back from the garage. I know its a bit of a useless thread but was just wondering if anyone has used one instead of the steelie.:)

some calibra's have space savers IIRC, if not, a new shape corsa maybe? Even tho there ET45 IIRC

Why not just bin the spare altogether? I did, and replaced with something else of the 15" variety ;)

a lot of thinner rims won't fit over decent brakes

my mate has an 02 cobra mustang, and was very funny to see him drive past with an 18" space saver on because he got a screw in his tyre! when he got his wheel back i put it upto the side of my nova and it went above the top of the arch!
