View Full Version : My SRI

Heres a few pics of my SRI, bought it from work and a px, one previous owner and more history than the royal family, spent a few quid on tidying it up, just had new arches in and a tidyup, got all new stickers and rubbing strips to go on but i'm toying with just painting the grey due to the stickers holding water etc and one wing sticker is damaged and cant be replaced easily.
Ive probably gone a bit further than I planned when I got it, but i removed the wings to clean up behind and check for rust, my dad didnt relise I was keeping them and took them out of the shed and binned them, that led to 2 new wings, a cheap drivers door on ebay led to a new door replacing the rusty one and new back arches went in for good measure  Also not to mention the pair of brand new bumpers sourced via work cheaply, Not bad considering it was only bought for a run around and ive not done any running around in it. lol I've also fitted new 6 groove discs (its only modification),

But now its geting sorted and ready for MOT i'm considering using it as a new daily driver and taking the gsi off the road.

Heres how it is now next to my daily runner GSi

What do people think of painting the grey on? I know its a ongoing thread but i wanted to keep it as original as possible.

i think it would look well nice with the vinyl on the bottom again to keep it looking like a Proper SRi should BUT saying that it does look well mint and nice without , your decision pal keep up the good work:)

I plan to have it grey along the bottom, it has to be, i've just spent a fortune on new rubbing strips, I just can't decide on wether to paint or sticker it?

Is this the one that had a alternative method of repairing the rear arches ? rivets or something ?

Looking good.. Nice an clean, would make a great shell for a project !

It was a wind up mate, rear arches screwed in place to hold them in the right place then welded, heres a pic of the welder ready to go, sorry for the pic Phil lol

Ladies first  :D

Arches just need patients Thats why I didnt do them a mate did!

The reason one wing is done is because thats all I could be ****d to do lol its got a couple of bubles aswell so tempted more to painting them, also due to the sticker sweating and causing rust:thumb:
