it should do that anyway, on a gas less, the feed wire is live all the time, the trigger just activates the motor that turns the roll :thumb:

Ive got a gas less, and yes, there **** to use on cars, but ace for small/minor fabricarion of parts :P

it wouldnt arc out at all if the earth wasnt conected. sounds more like the trigger is stuck

thats how gassless ones are ment to be triger only operates the wire feed.

if the trigger was stuck the wire would just keep feeding lol just buy an arc welder, old school welding ;)

the welds thin? slow down then, or turn the amps/feed up

Its a gasless one it has 2 speeds high and low i dont know if its the tip mate but when i start to weld the wire sticks to the tip and stops the feed

hmmmm it seems you dont have a high and low wire speed setting. you have a high and low power setting then it sets the wire automaticly aparently.

SUP4NOV4
23-04-07, 07:31 PM
Yes mate its the power setting then the speed goes faster in low setting and faster in high setting any ideas mate

Take off the tip shroud and make sure that the shroud is clean and free of spatter, do the same with the shroud mounting on the gun, it sound as though some spatter is causing the handle to go live, as it's earthing.

I might be way off, but has it got gasless wire in it?
if it has normal mig wire, it will spark everywhere.

btw the gasless mig is actually better than a gas mig if you are using it outside or in a draughty place.

my gasless welders are the same my gas welder is only live when you push trigger some times it melts the insulator in the shroud and it slides back so the tip is too far forward or its the wrong shroud clarke welders have longer shrouds
