gsi not sparking?

help me plz ive put my gsi engine in my 1.2 carb nova everything is connected i got power the coil and dizzy but not getting a spark?:confused:

Are you using the original 1.2 coil feed wire for the new coil?
You must use a wire that is ignition live, even when the starter is turning or it won't spark.

there is only 1 ignition wire coming out of the car loom thats not connected to the coil coz the gsi engine loom is connected to it

there is a connection for it somewhere, I can't remember the wire colour, but it does need connecting, I'll try & find out

Just dug this out of the mech forum

The engine loom has a small plug that clips by the wiper motor(as std)
It has
Red-12v-Straight to batt.
Black-Ign 12v-Ign barrel, or ign live in fusebox
Blue-Coolant guage-join to blue on dash loom
Green-Tacho-as above but green
Red/Blue-Fuel pump-You will have to run a wire to the pump if using a carb loom
Brown/white-Ecu light iirc-To brown/blue on dash

The starter/charging/oil pressure etc wires should be on your carb loom.
The plug on the engine loom you will have cut off and wire the ends of the wires to the car, as you dont have the other half of the plug...

yep i hav wiried all that up aprt from that brown/white wire off the car loom didnt think i needed to or do i?

had the same prob mine would not spark until i put the original brown live too the black on the gsi coil

try wireing the green on engine loom too the green on the coil that worked for me . u dont need the engine managment light too make it start
