what sort of hole?
is it the 'conrod thru the side' sort of hole, or the 'there is this strange hole made by gm' sort of hole

Also, why do you want to get rid of the injection, and fit a lower power carb?

make a blanking plate from some steel or ally plate & cover the hole

i think i know the hole you mean is it lik 15 mil or somthing, the manifold should cover it, i think the gasket covers it.

If it is round, get a core plug from a decent motor factors

oh,well if the standerd manifold blocks it chances are its ment to be blocked. is that not the hole thats there to reduce emissions or something, that rally build manual tells you to block it i think. dont take my word for this,it just rings a bell.

Tap it and fit a bolt.
Its the egr hole.

No carb inlet fits a gsi head properly tho....
