Been lukin for Nova for the past year an a bit for my first car, but jus havnt came across the right one yet! :roll:

So hoping to mayb come across a wee minter on here, or else pick up few pointers for moddin mine wen i get it!

Was lukin at a few includin a 1.4 Merit, was perfect but didnt have the funds at the time! So jus gona keep on the look out!!

Welcome to NL. Won't the 1.4 Merit be SPi? Its a bit limp, for the same insurance group you could get an SRi.

yeh im lukin 1.4, think tht wud b my limit wen come to insurance! cud jus abt hava 1.4.. jus over a grand on my own policy. Havnt tried a quote for SRi, but was advised tht id never be able to insure 1?? :-/

1.4SPi (afaik the 1.4 Merits were all single point injection) is group 5, whilst the carb (SR, 72bhp) and MPi (SRi, 84bhp) are only a group 7, so shouldn't be that much more to insure.

The 1.4SPi is only 60bhp, so a bit limp really!

Hi jackie welcome to NL, your in the right place if your interested in nova's, alot of people get them as a first car and end up keeping them for a long time and buying more and more. Hope you enjoy the site if you get a nova post some pictures lets have a look.
I would say go for the merit not an sri i know they might be in the same group insurance but as soon as you mention sri to the insurance company they have a fit you want to keep the cost down to spend more money on your new car i would guess, well enjoy

welcome to NL. i registered last week and everyone on here so far has been friendly and very helpful. its right what there saying if u have a nova for ur first car ull get hooked ived strayed and bought punto gt's rs turbo's and an impreza but here i am back to a nova sri an i love it this is my third nova in 3 years had a 1.2i first which was fun but gutless then a 1.3sr which was mint very nice cars and now my sri. anyways im thread hoggin sorry guys and gyals

Oh right, sorry! i didnt realise, i'll type in full from now on! :p

Oh and ive found a wee cheap corsa, so im getting it at the end of the week! will do me until i find nova, jus until i get my test etc!

only 1ltr, insurance is cheap as chips! :D

1ltr, corsa sport alloys, spoiler. Did have backbox but it was huge looking and didnt make a great deal of difference to the exhaust so taking it off. Think il just get the bumpers painted and just leave it the way it is for now.

will get pics up to give you's a wee looky! :D
