I snapped a spring a few weeks ago and have now got new springs to put on the front. I have never done this before so started taking the stutt off, I have the strutt off and in my kitchen now, Im having trouble getting the top mount off though, I see there is a nut inside the cup (19mm) and the thread stops and there is a hexagonal end. Now Im trying to use the haynes manual and it says use a ring spanner to hold the large nut and a socket to hold the smaller nut inside. But all the spanners I have are straight and dont really reach iside the cup. Is there a special tool to use or a certain knack to taking it off?

You need a ring spanner, with a offset neck, so it can reach into the topmount.

or a 19mm socket and air gun does the trick

just stick a sock on an extenstion/ratchet dont need an air gun. Grip the shaft with mole grips if it spins. Put carboard in the mole grips so you dont damage the shaft.
