Well I'll be bumswizzled!!!, with the focus on the "bum".
Draper, the Lord of the loose tongues, came round yesterday, I suspect to do a bit of mincing,but I had other idea's, got him on stripping his PVS race engine out of the crashed car.
It did'nt go too well, as he had an accident and had to be taken to casualty, he was in there a good while and the noises he was making were pitiful, nearly enough to make a grown man cry:cry: and he had to be carried OUT, after he'd been treated!

Anyway, the pics will explain.

Progress up until today has been quite slow, no , make that non existant!
Got the engine out and stripped, and qiute surprislingly it is in quite good nick, it obviously hasn't had an oil change for some time, but the bearings were all good.Polished the crank and it came up like new, the pistons have some slight scuffing on the skirts, but will polish out.To save time i will have to pocket the pistons by hand, then they can be balanced along with the rods.
The rest of the bottom end is going for balancing on Wed, not sure if I should give Draper a slotted flywheel for the race, as he will wont want to give it back!
Cams are ordered, so it's full steam ahead on the head, next weekend, a quick wash and home porting job is all that can be done due to the time constraints.
The car should be with us in about 3 weeks, so it's the quickest of rebuilds, including the gearbox, hope we can get a manifold fot the carbs, mapped ignition is out, no time, so its an SR ign pack and suck it and see.

By the way, has anyone seen or heard from Draper this weekend?, it's as if he's dropped off the world.
If you do see him or he reads this, DRAPER, GET YER WALLET OUT MAN.
