new car broke down ;o(

hi all i bought a GSI yesterday and on the way back it was bad traffic and the weather was really warm and the nova cut out.

i let it cool and it started and i drove it easy, but then it cut out again and wouldn't start, and it wont even start this morning!!!

Might be the ignition coil overheating.

if it overheated would that break it ?

No, when it cooled down it would work again.

Altho you say it wont start now, so check the rotor is turning with the engine.

fuel pump relay i had the same problem on my gsi cost about ?8.easy fix.hope that helps

where is the best place to get one?

try cleaning up the contact points 1st, and while under the bonet have a look at all the earth points.

carroded earth points was the cause of a lot of little faults
