Hi my mates just brought an alarm. his car has central locking on 3 of the 4 doors (I.e. not on the drivers door). I did have a central locking motor but it only has two wires, live on the one wire and ground on the other(obviosly swap around to get the motor to operate the different way round).
The alarm has two wires for central locking (LOCK/UNLOCK) but they are both negatives which means I cannot operate the door motor as it requires a live current. I heard that you can get 4 wire door motors would this be the motor I require and would it work?

u will need the 4 wire master motor, and also do you have the interface and senda unit to connect it to the alarm. I had some troubles with this sort of thing and just paid to get it all done properly in the end.

i thought the master solenoid was a 5 wire one??

on the ads for alarms which say "central lockin output, suits most vehicles" well guess wot, the NOVA aint one of em :(

just buy the interface, and the solenoid u need (drivers one). u should then be able to hook the alarm to the interface, and the new solenoid to the existin cables, and the interface.

the microscan stuff seems pretty, good, well it works and hasnt caused me any probs. easy to fit etc etc.
