how tight is your clutch cable, have you had a new clutch, and what does that feel like?

could also just spray some carb cleaner into the butteryfly/butterflies of the carb, can only help anyway.

right,i think i may have found the problem, took the air filter off,and when i push the accelerator, the butterfly on the carb hardly moves,it moves a tiny bit the stays there.is this right ?
if not how do i fix this ?
thanks a lot :thumb:

the butterfly your looking at would probably be for the choke lol

if you press the accelerator on the carb does it instantly spring back?

i had this problem and it turned out to be the idle control valve sticking.

1400 SR's dont have ICV's.

Just clean the carb up. Anything that moves soak with carb cleaner, just have a general look at it and see if it looks as though anything is missing. if not post up a couple of pics and we'll tell you if anythings missing.
