i have a 1.4 sri and i want more power. so far it has only got a piper cross induction kit, jan speed full through exhaust de-cat and has been lowered. i was thinking about a four branch manifold with some tape afriend advised and i was also advised to get a performance throttle body. if any one can help in all ideas welcome not including engine swap though and any details about a throttle body and costs cheers guys hope for a reply or two

4 branch manifold will help.
Dont think a larger throttle body would make any differnce on a otherwise std engine.

O, and why bump the post 1min after you post it

Best ways to tune your engine are: (As a guide incase you dont know your engine is 82bhp standard)

Option A: Bolt on some sort of forced induction device, such as Turbo or Supercharger. Approx Cost ?1000-?5000+ BHP Estimate 110-160bhp

Option B: Throttle Bodies. Approx Cost ?1200-5000+ BHP Estimate 100-120bhp

Option C: Scrap Injection system in favour of twin carbs Cost ?500-2000 BHP Estimate 90-120bhp

Option D: Nitrous Cost ?300-1000 BHP Estimate Varies on jet sizes

There are the four most common routes to go down if you do not want to do an engine swap.

An enlarged tb will do next to nothing for your car. 4 branch with a high lift cam also would probably see you up near GTE/GSi perfomance.

Nitrous is fun and can be swapped onto other engines when you get bored of 1.4 power.

well this is how the car came and i got the head off atm the mo replacing a head gasget that was blown when i got it so thought i would ask for advice cheers for the advice lads it will come to some good use.

dont get throttle bodys, theres alot more stuff you could do cheaper...like the above

I would go for a re- mapped ECU, highlift cam (kent or piper etc) polished and ported head and an enlarge the intake manifold to match with head intake ports.

yeah the intake(ermmm inlet pmsl) mainfold of a LET should fit it and give give you a millionbazillion bhp


for th emoney you spend on the poxy 1400 you could have a nice 150bhp benchmark from a redtop, :thumb:

get it to go round bends by setting up the suspension geometry as in the rally build manual,

you should re build your nove. sri's at this day and age would probly benefit from new rings
