Recently while driving on the motorway my car doesnt seem to want to go over 3000 revs in 5th, its pulling really badly in 4th sometimes aswell. Most of the time the revs will begin to pick up all of a sudden but if I then reduce the power it takes ages to build up again. This morning I was driving down the motorway in 4th gear without realising. I wondered for a minute why the revs where so high and b4 I realised I was in 4th the car pulled like it had nver pulled b4, it felt like it had nitrous or something. I then changed to 5th and the revs completely died and no matter what I did the power just wouldnt come back. I ended up stalling on the motorway and restarting after a minute or two . After that it was fine . Sorry if Ive bored you but I need this sorting.

cheers in advance and happy chrimbo!:)

so what do I do? in the haynes manual Ive just noticed it says it could be incorrect carburettor idle settings. I have had idle probs in the past so could it be this?

no fucking chance its idle probs m8!!!
Iv had these problems, first time it was carb icing, and other times it was moisture in/on the dizzy and leads. Spray a good lot of wd40 on ur dizzy/coil/leads and see if its any better.
If u have a k+n filter put the original back on and make sure the warm air feed is working!

this could be happening to me. on my car its as if its misfiring and i noticed it when going down the motorway and it just wouldnt pull. i have a weber 34/32 on it with a k&n so will the gm filter still fit or will it be too tall or just not line up at all? if not what can i do to stop this happening

cheers
