1.2 carb, what engine oil ??

Cant use "oil" in the search, couldn`t find anything n the FAQ, so....

What engine oil type do I use in a 1989 1.2 carb mk1 nova

Any old c**p will be fine tbh.

I always use 10/40 semi synth GM stuff, ?10 for 5L.

But have just used ?3 20/50 from Wilko's in the past,Lol.

My 1.2 carbs a bit rattly on 10W40 semi, Im going to put some 20/50 in it for the summer to try and shut it up.

Think the 1.2 carb can use anything lol

I have seen recomendations for this engine 0w30, 0w40 5w40. I normally put 10w40.

Still get a decent oil tho. How many miles has the engine done? if its loads then you could use the high milage oils.

tbh id not put anything lower than 15/40 in as the 1.2 will just leak/use anything thinner.

i use 10/40 mineral, it used to rattle on the semi stuff
