Hy mates,

i have a problem wich I never had before. I have got a nova wich should be a fun car to me. And I have got three engines in my garage. Now I can't decide wich I should install?

- 1.6 C16NZ engine.
- 2.0 16V C20XE engine
- 2.0 16V Turbo C20LET engine...

Sounds strange, I know but I can't decide what I want.

I would like to hava a fun car. For sunday mornings you know? Looking out of the window, wife and son still sleeping, going to the garage and driving just for fun a little bit on the road...

On the one side, I like the power of the GSI engine. Not to much, easy to handle, not that heavy on the front axle...

The XE has more power is a little bit heavier on the front axle but looks god in the engine compartment.

A turbo nova is what I always wanted. I habe a calibra turbo wich is in my possession for 7 years. Lot of fun and in a nova a kind of weapon...

So what should I do?

What would you do?

Cheers

Beany

..and so the question in life eternally begs..
If LET's dont cost much more the buy in Germany then ide choose that. Quite simply u'll never consider a question /situation like this again; its the best by far.
If an XE is (like here) much cheaper to buy then for less wheelspin fun its worth choosing. I bet it wouldn't go much slower than an LET anyway..
1.6? would cost maybe as much as an LET to extract anywhere near XE power from it.

The problem isn't to buy them, I have got all three engines in my garage. The only thing I have to do is renewing the engines. You know, all the gaskets, waterpump, the drivebelt.

So you think it should be the LET? It allready has a EDS Phase 3. It was in my Calibra at last.

LET engine with gearbox and wirestuff is about 2500 - 3000 € here.
XE engines with gearbox and wirestuff is about 500 - 750 €.

So you've got a LET in the garage and you've always wanted a turbo Nova... sounds like you've answered your own question to me.

For a fast road car it has to be the LET.

If your planning some track exploits, dont discount the potential of an XE. In fact, if you have plenty of money (which you probably do seeing as Gordon Brown isnt your chancellor, look into some TB's and cams etc for the XE.

But as mentioned above, you always wanted a LET nova... sounds like this is a pointless question lol

LET is to much for a nova. just go for the XE.

LET you wont regret it, XE Novas arent even that fast

Edit- XE Novas arent that fast on the road compared to what LET Novas are. And thats standard XE power by the way tbs and carbs are different stroy.

LET it, XE's too common now and a LET is more challanging, and more fun!!!
