I'm going to attempt to sort sumink out along these lines to make it easier 4 peeps.
I've been back 10 pages in the archives to fetch sum stuff that seems to crop up regularly. However, nows your chance to help get a load of those common questions and solutions on that you know a lot of peeps want to know about. Post away but keep it to the point - no rambling on like that doddery old CP bloke :D

2 litre 16v is very common q's!
What mods are required? i.e. engine strengthening, chasis leg mod, maybe stiffer springs, driveshafts, and whatever else!
maybe put links up for diagrams or further info.

Arch mods & suspension etc... what u need to do etc

how much you can lower a nova without being unable to go over speedbumps.
also, the arch mods required to fit 15s, 16s, 17s, 18s and 19s and 21s if ur mad enough!!!!

what does it mean if i get steam out the exhaust when warm
which engines will drop straight in
what gearbox is the best for accel/top speed
etc.

ungrading alternator from Diesle nova
what size are the standard speakers?

HOw to delock a nova - link to diagrams/photos would help.
What rear wipers will straight swap from other cars.
Mk2 Dash security hazard switch mod (which i dont really understand but i have a mk1).
What size wheels will fit with no arch mods.
DIY Central locking/Heated Seats/Front Fogs/Electric Windows.

Cant really think of anything else thats not been mentioned.

what about " how do i fit a solenoid to open my boot and what is the best solenoid to use?" You could include solenoid part numbers, where to get them etc

whatabout a legal section, so peeps know how far they can go with mods before encountering problems with the law and the m.o.t places. i.e lights/bulbs, handles (or lack of) indicators etc etc

Thanks for the suggestions lads.
What I was thinking was more along the lines of you lot either putting a new post up something like " How do I fit a solenoid etc..." so that hopefully it'll get answered giving me the chance to copy and paste the details into a word doc for editing..OR:
You lot putting a new post up such as "How I got on fitting a Mk2 dash in my M1 etc.." with the salient points and tips on how to get round tricky problems.
I'm really relying on you lot to put up the stuff that you think will help the first timers to the site or to Novas themselves:)
So if you've done summink yourself and cracked how to do it, post it up so it can be included.

Sorry, :(I'm not doing any ICE stuff as this is the tech.forum plus I don't know squat about it :-/

is it just going to be the 1 guide for each, or multiple guides on each question, im sure some of us have different views on 'what is best' for certain things.

Nope, hopefully its going to a selection of FAQ's and responses taken from the Forum.
The aim is to distil out the most informative posts on the common topics in an easy to access A-Z. Previously the only way to find these was to have a good memory and go back thru' the archives. If you are new to the site this is nearly impossible to do effectively meaning that the best information was being lost to those who most want it.
I'm hoping to present these in much the same way as they appear in the forum so that if there is a debate about the subject matter, it is fully represented.
(and yes you do get your say)
