putting another post in here instead of mechanical as its moved on to wiring!

fitted my JVC instead of my Kenwood headunit but the sockets are different sizes so i cant be lazy and use the same wiring.

connected everything up and it seems fine - front speakers work, 6x9's work.............................until i realised i had no bass because my sub wont work

for some reason i also have a random thick red wire running off a plug/socket from one of the standard wires (dont know where that came from!)

boggled.

also check the power fuse running to the amp and the amps fuses

But if you've done a re wire then more than likely check your remote cable.

is your 6X9s running off the same amp as your sub? if it is then its not the rca cable. if you have a fluke check your getting 12v to the amp and any voltage from the rca (less than 12v). then check the resistance of the sub if its infinite then its blown. if you dont have a fluke use a small bulb,if the light comes on you have power. the red wire could be ur rca cable.
