my mate has a fault with his xe and its flashing out code 94 wich according to topbuzz is a hall effect switch, does any1 know wtf one of those is?
thanks matt
wtf? its not giving you a specific sensor?
Hall Effect is the method some proximity or position sensors use. So could be anything? Crank sensor?
Distributor.
:thumb: you never cease to impress me
:)
Try the wiring at the dizzy first, if the fault remains, try another distributor.

so your saying it will be the distributor then?? are u sure
If the ecu has stored that code, and it keeps storing it after re-setting the ecu, then yeah, replace the dizzy/make sure the plug is tight. Might also be the wire(s) to the plug
Hall effect switch is the trigger in the dizzy that the ecu uses to find tdc.
The car will run without it as it will run from the Crank sensor.
If you want another opinion, ask on mig.. Lol
