View Full Version : 2.0 'pot' to 'flat' type flywheel - which clutch

Clean 2.0 nova

I am in the process of rebuilding a 2.0 Ecotec engine to put into a nova. I have opted for changing the heavier pot type flywheel and sourced a flat type flywheel.

The trouble is I don't know which type of clutch to fit. Should ordering a clutch of an early C20XE suffice (with pressure plate). Or is there more than one type of flat type flywheel, which may require specific engine numbers to get the right clutch.

Any help much appreciated.

order the clutch for the model that you removed the flywheel from. flat type 20xe clutches are all the same iirc. Make sure you use a cable operated clutch too. ie not f18 hydraulic.

Astra GTE had flat fly.
So order one of that.

Thanks for quick reply. I don't know exactly which vehicle the flywheel came out of. Does something like Astra GTE 1986 onwards sound correct. I did ask the seller selling the following clutch on ebay, but he said it wouldn't fit (or maybe he just did'nt want to commit to saying it would fit).
