Ive decided to fix the stupid nova and i have a few parts about so i was wondering if i could use my carb head on the 1.2 spi block but source some 1.3 pistons to make it a 1.4, would this all tie in ok? Also i was thinking about using my 1.2 ignition system. Would this be suitable for aplication?

1.3 pistons wont fit a 1.2spi block.

Why not get a 1400 block and insure it :p

Why wont they fit spi block? I was told 1.3 pistons into a 1.2 = 1.4 would it fit a carb block? Insurance isnt a problem im not trying to dodge insurance however im trying to make do with all the rest of the sh*t i got lieing around! Lol

Yes they do fit a 1.2, carb block.
SPi block is different to carb.

Can you be a little more specific? (Not being rude) Just interested:thumb:

The 1300 pistons are too wide for the 1.2 spi cylinders

So...you quite literally swap the 1.3 pistons into a 1.2 carb block?

I think its 1.4 pistons with a 1.3 crank.
In a 1.2 carb block.

The 1.3 crank has the stroke of a 1300, the 1.2 carb has the bore of a 1400, so put them together and you get 1400cc.

bear in mind that the little ends are different sizes in some cases. get a haynes and trawl through the engine info in there
